Fish Tales @ Simpang Bedok

On our way to send one of our friends to the airport, Ann and I met with an accident with a Private Hire Car at the entrance of Changi Airport Terminal 2 carpark. The car rammed into the back of my work van denting the lower side panel and bumper which caused the back door to be jammed.

Trying to put my anger and whiplash under control, we exchanged particulars, contact info and carried on with our lives. Due to the accident, we only managed to meet up with our friend for a few minutes before he had to fly off.

Accident aside, we headed to our usual dinner spot at Simpang Bedok when we suddenly remembered about a Fish & Chips place around the vicinity recommended by one of Ann’s friends.

Fish Tales is situated at 351 Bedok Road which is exactly beside Tang Tea House (our kitchen away from home). We are here every other day but did not realise that there is a new restaurant next door. This is their 2nd restaurant from their flagship at Orchard Scape.

We looked through the menu and both of us decided to go with the Beaurre Au Citron, their original fish and chips with a topping of garlic, lemon butter sauce. It comes with chips, coleslaw and tartar sauce.

The fish is flaky, battered nicely, not to oily and the garlic, lemon butter sauce gives the fish a nice tangy touch. For $9.90, we were quite surprised by the quality of the food.

Ann also ordered a side of mozzarella cheese sticks. It was cheesy on the inside and crunchy outside. But you have to gobble it up fast as the cheese gets cold easily. Fish Tales also has an extensive menu of seafood and pastas which we would definitely check it out again soon.

Overall, we enjoyed our dinner that night after the unmemorable accident earlier. Lucky for us the fish and chips managed to ease our anger and pain away. 🙂

They are open daily from 12pm – 10pm. Do check them out.
