My First Photography Exhibition @ Maya Gallery

Being a photographer, getting the chance to exhibit your photos at an art gallery is a great honour and opportunity to show off your work. My sister managed to get me a wall space at an art fair at Maya Gallery and I gladly took up the chance.

Maya Gallery is a well renowned Singapore based gallery promoting works of Southeast Asian artists to an international audience. It has participated in many local and international art fairs notably the Singapore Contemporary, Affordable Art Fair Singapore, Art Expo Malaysia, Artshow Busan and Bank Art Fair Hong Kong. It has also collaborated with galleries in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Shanghai, Korea and Japan.

For my first mini exhibition, I handpicked 4 photos from my Mongolia travel series. The monochrome photos are captured with an analogue camera on black and white film. The film is processed by hand myself and the prints are printed digitally on Hahnemuhle Fine Art Baryta.

The prints are still available for sale. Do drop us an email if you are interested in any of the prints.

The exhibition was an enlightening experience for me. Hopefully it is not the last. I have learnt a lot from the seasoned artists who were also there such as Idris Ali and Karto.

I would like to offer my sincere thanks and appreciation to my sister, Maya Gallery, the artists and to those who made it yesterday.
