01 – Our Singapore to Türkiye Overland Adventure Begins
We sold our house.
We said goodbye to our trusty Golden Suzuki APV.
We packed our worldly possessions into storage. And in their place, we bought a Toyota Hilux.
The plan is to drive it overland all the way to Türkiye.
This isn’t a spur of the moment decision. We’ve been dreaming, planning, researching and re planning for a very long time.
We’ve pored over maps, mapped out routes, compared border crossings, and talked about it over countless cups of kopi until it started to feel like a story we were telling ourselves rather than something we’d actually do.
And now, finally, it’s happening.
There’s a lot we still don’t know.
The roads ahead, the people we’ll meet, the things that will go wrong (and they will), and the moments that will take our breath away.
But that’s exactly what makes it exciting. We’re leaving the comfort of a settled life for the open road, with a full tank, a packed truck and a lot of curiosity.
We’ll be sharing it all here.
The planning and the preparation, the beautiful stretches and the bumpy ones, the food, the borders, the detours and the lessons learned along the way.
