Deanna’s Kitchen – Halal Prawn Noodles To Die For in Singapore

halal prawn noodle singapore, lifestyle blog singapore, singapore eats,

I am very excited to talk about the intriguing and delicious Halal Prawn noodles that my tongue bathed in days back at the Deanna’s Kitchen.

Deanna’s Kitchen is situated at Toa Payoh Lorong 1 Food Centre, and I didn’t go alone. One of our friends treated us for lunch and Ann & I can never turn down a generous offer. And food shared with others is always great! 🙂

When I woke up all happy the morning of that day, I should have known that it was a sign that my tummy was in for a treat of its life. You can get to the nice food stall by walking from the Braddell MRT station to the Food Centre.

Deanna’s Kitchen is a food stall that is 100% Muslim-owned and offers genuine and tasty Chinese styled Prawn Noodles. The stall is owned by Deanna- Denise Chew, and Asri Ramli, her husband. Deanna converted to Islam and realized that there was no great halal prawn mee around to satisfy her cravings.

She had her mum to help her tweak the recipe and the rest they say is history. The usual Chinese versions make use of broth made from pork bones, while Deanna makes use of prawn broth instead. The tale of Deanna and her husband’s love is mind-blowing, an interracial love that is made to last. You can keep up with them on their Facebook Page. Deanna’s Kitchen is the fruit of that love.

They are great at Prawn Noodles, though having variations in the noodles, as well as the ingredients used. Their signature delicacy is indeed superb. Their noodles can be customized to the one you wish. If you don’t fancy the yellow noodles because of its starchy texture, you can always get them to opt for another noodle you love.

When we ordered, we opted for the all in Seafood Platter Prawn Noodles. It had the noodles swimming with fresh small prawns, big prawns, clams, crayfish, fishcake, kang kong, all types of noodles and a whole lobster all in one giant bowl of savoury broth. All good for sharing for 3 to 4 people.

  • Tip: Opt for the yellow or Bee Hoon noodles instead of all noodles as the Kway Teow soaked up all the broth and made it soggy.

We wish you were there to taste it, maybe you would have felt the heavenly taste too. When the broth reached our table, the aroma made us drool greatly in anticipation. It really impressed us with the first sip. We wish we can eat it daily.

We are now a great lover of Deanna’s Kitchen Prawn broth taste.  We could say it was flavourful and it was a great choice we ordered the Seafood Platter as we managed to try everything in the menu in one go!

The homemade fried shallots that Deanna’s Kitchen is known for was also mind-blowing and goes very well with the Prawn Noodles.

We would give this dish a 9/10, and we may not be greatly exaggerating. We were a little disappointed with the lobster as it was a little too hard. But all in all, it was a great meal shared among friends.

And the owners are great at customer service making sure everything went well and even topping up more broth into our bowls.

Will I Go Back There?

Of course, I will go back there over and over again. The Prawn Noodles are something to die for.
