Our Wonderful Stay at The Majestic Hotel Kuala Lumpur

After our campervan adventures in Australia, Ann and I felt that we needed another holiday from the holiday. 😛 Ann still had some days left before the start of the working term and as a friend of ours was getting married in Kuala Lumpur, we decided to have a short getaway to Kuala Lumpur for a week. Yes, a week!

We flew via Malindo Air and we also pre-booked a car at the airport via Rental Cars and got away with some amazing deals from Europcar which we felt we quite reasonable as we would be travelling all over Kuala Lumpur for this trip.

However, the highlight of this trip would be The Majestic Hotel, Autograph Collection which we stayed for a week in luxurious comfort that we did not want to leave our room!

The Majestic Hotel Kuala Lumpur includes the original Hotel Majestic which is documented as a national heritage site. This colonial structure was built in 1932 and became one of the great hotels of Kuala Lumpur in its time. An icon of Malaya’s boom years leading to World War II, the hotel came to be the place for glamorous social events, government receptions and the residence for prominent international visitors.

We were in awe when we reached The Majestic Hotel that we quickly snapped a few photos at the entrance of the colonial building of the hotel. The hotel has expanded over the years that they have a modern wing besides the colonial structure to cater to more guests and tourists.

The Majestic Hotel is located about 28 minutes away from the Kuala Lumpur International Airport, and close to the Sentral Station. There are many places of interest within a stone’s throw away like the National Mosque (Masjid Negara) as well as the Islamic Arts Museum which we truly enjoyed visiting.

Museum Hopping Everyday

If you are not driving, The Majestic Luxury Coach services operate regularly to Kuala Lumpur Sentral Station, Starhill Gallery and Mid Valley Megamall.

The Grab car app also works wonderfully here in Kuala Lumpur and you can also get your every food cravings delivered to your hotel too.

As soon as we checked in, and went up to our room, our jaws dropped when we unlocked the doors to our luxurious comfortable room. The room was very grand, spacious and came with all the amenities we needed for our trip. From the flat screen TV to Nespresso machine, every little detail was catered to the customer in mind.

The poster bed gave the room a colonial feel in a modern setting and it was very comfortable. The air con setting was just perfect; something we felt that only luxury hotels can achieve. 🙂

However, the only downside for me personally would be the pillows which were a little too soft but Ann liked it so it doesn’t really matter.

The attached bathroom though is in a league of its own. We have never encountered such a spacious bathroom that is as huge as the bedroom itself! We could literally play catch in the room.

The bathtub is a joy to dip in after a day of sightseeing and gobbling up delicious food. And it comes with a TV screen too without the need to argue who gets to choose the channels.

There is a His and Hers sinks and I could do all the manly stuff at it without Ann batting an eyelid to me. I could also spend hours just soaking in the bathtub and watch TV all day!

The pool is not huge but it was a nice size to have a swim in as well as soak our #adulting worries away. We were quite lucky that every time we went to the pool, it was always empty and we had the pool to ourselves.

Sometimes we would just laze around the lounge chairs and catch up on our reading too.

If only life is this simple.

The Majestic Hotel is known for their afternoon tea at the Colonial Cafe and that was where we headed to on one of the afternoons. Afternoon tea served with sweet cakes, savoury nibbles and soft jazz music playing in the background.

Nothing more you can ask for.

The highlight of the afternoon tea to me was the scones that went perfectly with butter and jam and of course not forgetting the company I had with me!

Overall, we truly enjoyed our luxurious stay at The Majestic Hotel and had one of the best and relaxing times here. From the spacious bathroom, afternoon teas and naps by the pool we were in always in awe of this enclave.

A true definition of luxury and we would definitely come again.

Thank you for the Majestic memories. Till next time.
