Karus’ is a famous Fish Head Curry restaurant that really earned its position on the top of the ladder. The restaurant is not a new one, and has been in operation for more than 20 years, and has been offering quality Fish Head Curry since its inception.

Some Singaporeans like us are known to drive all the way to eat it. The restaurant offers other great South Indian as well as North Indian delicacies too.

Ann and I love Karu’s Fish Head Curry with white rice, as well as the various vegetables, condiments and poppadoms all served together on a huge banana leaf. We would eat with our hands, mixing the curry, rice and all the vegetables together before stuffing all the spicy goodness into our mouths and tummies.

Don’t forget to request for Rasam too if you are a fan of it.

Before we tried Karu’s Fish Head Curry, we had heard a lot about the place, but we thought it was merely hype, then we ate…

Now, We are ardent followers!

The curry gravy was balanced, and not too fiery as we thought it would, which was great for our palates. The fish was both moist and tender, and obviously very fresh from the taste of it.

Your taste buds will never remain the same once you try Karu’s Fish Head Curry.

Chicken Masala

Their Chicken Masala is probably one of the best tasting ones we had too. It is not too spicy and ideal for anyone who cannot stand fiery hot food.

  • Tip: Ask for the Drumstick to get the best tender meat for the chicken masala.

Fried Fish in Masala

Besides the Fish Head Curry and Chicken Masala, our die die must order side dish would be the deep Fried Fish in Masala.

The mixture of spices coated on the deep-fried fish would elevate your senses in every crunchy bite. And we can never get enough of it. So we usually order a whole piece each!

No Sharing!

After lunch, we would have the Masala Tea made to wash down the wonderful spicy goodness of an Indian meal. After every Karu’s meal, we would retreat home and have a good siesta. It is better not to plan any appointment after a meal at Karu’s.

Ann and I must have Karu’s Fish Head Curry at least once a month. And it rarely disappoints.

You got to try it to believe it.
