Being stuck in Singapore during a pandemic is never fun.

We could not travel nor visit our distant overseas relatives and the boredom was killing us. So when the Government offered the SingaporeRediscover vouchers, we decided to spend them on a staycation.

Ann did some homework on the various hotel staycations on offer and we finally decided to book a 2 nights stay at the Mandarin Orchard Singapore during the Christmas festivities period.

This staycation is our first time as a family of 3 and we just could not wait to spend the holidays together.

As soon as we reached the Mandarin Orchard Singapore, checking in was a breeze.

The staff was attentive to our needs and they even upgraded us to their Superior Deluxe Room with no additional costs.

Just lovely.

The Superior Deluxe Room boasts a King Sized bed (great for a family of 3 🙂 ) and the room has all the amenities such as a kettle, bathrobes & slippers and etc to make your stay a very comfortable one.

As we could not get a swimming pool slot due to the pandemic, we were happy with our bathtub especially Seth who was constantly looking forward to playing with the bubble bath.

The room had great views of Orchard Road too and we would spend the day lazing around and looking out at the hustle and bustle below.

Many of our friends asked why we booked the Mandarin Orchard Singapore.

The easy answer was the location of the hotel.

Mandarin Orchard Singapore is located in the heart of Orchard Road within range of all the big malls and shopping centres.

As it was the Christmas period too, they were many activities to do and loads of things to see at the bustling city center of Orchard Road.

We hung out at cafes, watched the Christmas lights on Orchard Road, and just soaked in the holiday festivities feel.

One thing that Seth loves the most was when the chirping birds come to nest during dusk along the streets of Orchard Road.

During the 2 day staycation at the Mandarin Orchard, we had a wonderful time together as a family.

These are great memories that money can’t buy even though we could not travel to a foreign land. We are looking forward to more of these staycations and travel as a family soon.

Hopefully, 2021 will be a better year for us and everyone. Till next time.

Happy holidays from the Fat Starfish Family!
