Our Short Sunset Ride to Marina Bay Sands

After getting 2 personal bicycles for ourselves, Ann and I finally get to ride on our Bickertons together without using any bicycle sharing apps this time.

We decided to cycle somewhere nice and as we were near the National Stadium, we thought that a ride to Marina Bay Sands (MBS) would be a great cycling adventure together. We have rented bicycles before at Fort Road and cycled to MBS, but this time it will be on our 2 personal Bickerton bicycles we bought.

We parked our van outside of the National Stadium, unfolded our Bickertons and away we went. We rode on the iconic Tanjong Rhu suspension bridge which is the link from the National Stadium to the Tanjong Rhu Park. From here, you can ride the Park Connector Network (PCN) path along the scenic riverfront which leads to the Tanjong Rhu Promenade.

As we cycled along the river, we were amazed by the sheer number of people at the Promenade exercising, time-lapse photo taking and some even went up a notch higher with luxury glamping by the river.

This route leads to the Marina Barrage whereby if you timed your ride just before the sunset, you can get stunning picture perfect views of the Marina Bay Sands at dusk.

After crossing the Marina Barrage, we cycled towards MBS and were greeted by the resident sea otters of the Gardens By The Bay. They were a playful lot swimming by the river, catching fish as well as posing for photos with the eager crowd that gathered.

They poop a lot too and stink up the whole area. 😛

  • Take Note: Respect the otters and do no feed them

We rested awhile as soon as we reached MBS, to stretch our muscles and later return back via the same route to our parked van at the National Stadium.

Overall it was a short fun sunset ride with Ann and the presence of the otters was the icing on the cake.

Looking forward to more rides soon.
