Explore Australia with Mighty Campers

Mighty Campers, Campervan Road trip Australia, Darwin to Melbourne Road trip, travel blog singapore,

Ann and I decided to do a little crazy road trip from the top end of Australia in Darwin all the way to the south in Melbourne via a Campervan with no itinerary after having withdrawals from our Japan Campervan Road trip last December. 😛

We managed to partner with Mighty Campers and got away with some amazing deals as well as an upgrade to their sister’s company, Britz’s 2 Berth Venturer (pictured above).

We have always been dreaming of owning one of these vehicles and Mighty Campers made our wishes come true for our road trip adventure.

Mighty Campers is one of the biggest campervan companies in Australia and New Zealand. They have branches all over Australia in Adelaide, Alice Springs, Brisbane, Cairns, Darwin, Melbourne, Perth as well as Sydney.

They provide 24 hours roadside assistance anywhere in Australia to give you peace of mind on your Down Under road trip.

Mighty Campers have various types of camper vehicles to suit your every need too. We chose the 2 Berth Venturer Campervan which has all the luxuries we needed, spacious and very comfy. Below are some of the features of the Venturer.

  • Sleeps 2
  • Double bed or two single beds
  • Air Conditioner (not the vehicle’s one)
  • Fridge
  • Microwave
  • Gas stove indoors
  • Gas BBQ Grill outdoor
  • Gas Tank
  • Sink
  • Hot & cold water
  • Freshwater tank
  • Wastewater tank
  • Toilet
  • Shower
  • 12V Battery/240V mains power

A Campervan Powered Site and Freshwater supply

Everything is self-contained in the vehicle. However, you need to be plugged in at a Campervan Powered Site if you want to use the main body air conditioning, microwave as well as hot water.

Other than that everything runs perfectly including the fridge on the dual 12V battery!

Linen and bedding are supplied in the camper. Cooking essentials such as crockery, cutlery and utensils are also provided to make your road trip worthy meals a success.

We suggest you pack soft backpacks instead of suitcases for easier storage in the camper.

Highly Recommended Optional Items

We highly recommend getting the Inclusive Pack which we got for ourselves. The list of additional items is below.

  • Includes Liability Reduction Option
  • WiFi 1GB (per hire not per day)
  • Linen Exchange
  • Picnic table + chairs
  • Extra driver fees
  • Single vehicle rollover cover
  • On request only: Baby /Booster seat, portable fan heater.

Other Optional items

Hassle Free Return Pack allows for an easy end to your trip if you are feeling all lazy after a great road trip holiday and includes all of these:

  • Return empty your fuel tank and gas bottle
  • Drop your keys with Express Key Return (if purchased Liability Reduction option),
  • Toilet and wastewater emptying service if applicable (Cairns, Melbourne, Sydney and Perth drop-off only)

We did not get the Hassle Free Return Pack as we actually enjoyed doing our chores such as filling up the water tanks and emptying the toilets and wastewater.

Do not worry if you are not sure how to clear the wastewater as well as the portable toilet as the 2 Berth Venturer Campervan is equipped with an Android tablet with all the necessary How To videos loaded at a click of a button!

The tablet has a GPS too to navigate Australia with a breeze.

Australia Campervan Roadtrip

Overall we were very impressed by the features of the Campervan as well as the service provided by Mighty Campers. It made our journey from the top end of Australia in Darwin to Melbourne a very comfortable one with all the luxuries of a fully equipped home packed in a compact van.

Do check out their website for more information and a quotation for your trip. And stay tuned for more stories on our Australia Campervan Road trip.

Hi we’ll be going to melbourne in June and I’m wondering if you were okay driving a campervan with a class 3 license? Is it legal?
